Please see below, an e-mail to both headteachers of Barnes Farm Schools with regards to the recent Harvest appeal.
Dear Headteachers
I am writing to thank Barnes Farm Infant and Junior Schools for their recent harvest donation to Chelmsford Foodbank. Thank you so much for organising the collection and please pass on our thanks to all those who donated. They gave an amazing 208.2kg of food!
We have been so humbled by the generosity of people over this period and are so grateful for all that we have received. All the food will go to local people experiencing a crisis, whether that is the loss of an income, an unexpected bill on a low income, a relationship breakdown, debt or issues to do with benefits. It will ensure that less people go to bed hungry in our city.
At Chelmsford Foodbank, the numbers we are feeding is increasing all the time; from opening in July 2012 until the end of March this year, we fed 869 people. Since the 1st April we have fed 1057 mouths. The need is, unfortunately, growing, and without your support we would struggle to be able to meet it.
Thank you again.
Ruth
