18 of our pupils from acorss Y5 and Y6 took part in the Essex Cross-Country competition at Melbourne Park on Thursday 7th February.
Despite the cold wind and muddy conditions, spirits were high and with a group of parents to cheer the racers on, the children took part in one of 4 races.
There were about 130 children in each race and they ran between1000m and 1200m. The top 4 positions in each race were added up and given in to the race organisers.
Our Y6 boys came 3rd overall in the 'big' school competition with our best finisher of 11th.
Well done to all those who competed and braved the cold conditions to try their best.
We compete again on 7th March at Chelmer Park. All the children spent the journey back to school planning how they would improve for this next race.
