On Monday 28th January, our 24 School Councillors from Y3 to Y6 visited the Houses of Parliament accompanied by Mr McTaggart, Miss Nichol (Teacher in charge of School Council) and Mr Wade (Parent Governor)
We were able to see the arrival of the Speaker of the House (where we we told "Hats off, strangers!") and explored all the main sections of the Parliament estate.
We spent some time in the public gallery of the Commons as well as the House of Lords before finishing with a workshop where we made our own law!
We saw numerous famous faces and it was a fascinating opportunity to see and hear how the UK is governed.
Behaviour was excellent and all councillors reported back to their class on Thursday in their class council time.
