Protective Measures

Following the Government guidance, we have an up-to-date and comprehensive risk assessment which has been reviewed by an independent competent person.
The key protective measures we are taking to keep our pupils, staff and visitors safer are:
  • The children are taught in class 'bubbles' but play in yeargroup 'bubbles'
  • Bubbles are kept apart all day in school and use their own equipment
  • All visitors asked to wear face coverings whilst onsite
  • Staggered start and finish times to avoid gatherings on the school site (or outside)
  • Pupils handwash on entry and before leaving
  • Pupils handwash before and after breaks
  • Foot-operated pedal bins in every room for 'catch it, bin it. kill it' approach
  • Hand sanitiser available in every room
  • Tables wiped down at the end of every day
  • Enhanced cleaning of toilet areas (twice a day)
  • Staff wear face coverings when moving out of their workspace
  • Assemblies held online
  • Social distancing encouraged where possible within class
  • Children sat in rows
  • Windows opened to increase ventilation
  • Medical room with enhanced PPE for any children, staff with symptoms during the day
  • Active engagement with local NHS Track and Trace
Additional Behaviour expectations during Covid-19

To keep one another safe we:

  • Try to keep our distance from one another
  • Use our own work/learning stations and equipment.
  • Work, eat and play in our year group bubble, and do not mix with people from other bubbles.
  • Move around school using markings and directions and avoiding other people.
  • Follow our hygiene instructions:

-never cough, sneeze or spit towards another person

-catch all coughs and sneezes in a tissue and throw it away (catch it, bin it, kill it), then wash our hands

-wash hands frequently (including whenever we are asked to), with soap and water for 20 seconds) or with hand sanitiser if soap and water is not available.
